Users must be running any of the following versions of Microsoft Outlook in order to connect to the Exchange 2010 environment:
- Outlook 2007 Service Pack 2 with the latest updates and hot fixes. At a minimum agencies should have the April 26, 2011 hot fix package.
- Outlook 2010, with Service Pack 1 when available.

ActiveSync provides push synchronization of contacts, calendars, tasks, and email between the Shared Services Email service and ActiveSync enabled devices (e.g. smart phones and tablets).
This service is available to agencies that have completed readiness activities, including signature of the most recent SLA which incorporates support for ActiveSync.
